Becoming an Alpha
Membership in Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is a lifelong commitment to scholarship, service, and brotherhood. Below are the foundational requirements.

Full-time Enrollment
Must be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing at an accredited institution.

Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.5
MINIMUM overall GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 grade scale).

Minimum Recent GPA of 2.5
MINIMUM GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 grade scale) from the last completed semester.

Completed Coursework
At least 15 credit hours of completed college coursework prior to application.

Good Character
Demonstrated good moral character and a clear record of conduct on campus and in the community.

Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation — one from a member of Alpha Phi Alpha and one from a non-member of good standing.
